AKIRA is looking for a talented Freelance Fashion Stylist to join our creative team on an on-call, as-needed basis at our Chicago studio.

This is a great opportunity for a freelance stylist looking to pick up additional shoot days and work with a fast-paced fashion brand. Hours and shoot days will vary based on business needs, and regular weekly hours are not guaranteed.

Position Overview

AKIRA is seeking a talented E-Commerce Freelance Fashion Stylist to create bold, elevated, and trend-forward looks for our e-commerce content. Working on-site at our Chicago studio, you’ll style head-to-toe looks across apparel, footwear, accessories, and jewelry while collaborating with our creative team to bring the AKIRA aesthetic to life. This is an on-call, as-needed freelance opportunity, with shoot days and hours varying based on business needs.

What You’ll Do

• Style complete, head-to-toe looks for e-commerce, editorial, and social media shoots.

• Curate apparel, footwear, accessories, and jewelry to create cohesive, fashion-forward looks.

• Translate current trends into styling that feels distinctly AKIRA.

• Work efficiently in a high-volume studio environment with multiple looks and products.

• Collaborate with photographers, models, creative team members, and other studio partners.

• Make quick, thoughtful styling adjustments based on the needs of the shoot.

• Maintain strong awareness of emerging fashion, runway, celebrity, street-style, and social media trends.

• Help ensure each look is polished, intentional, and visually aligned with the AKIRA brand.

What We’re Looking For

• Professional experience in fashion styling, e-commerce styling, editorial styling, or a related field.

• A strong portfolio showcasing creative, head-to-toe styling.

• A highly developed eye for proportion, layering, color, accessorizing, and trends.

• Confidence making styling decisions quickly in a live studio environment.

• Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.

• A collaborative, adaptable, and resourceful approach.

• Ability to work on-site at AKIRA’s Chicago studio.

• Flexible availability to support shoots based on business needs.

Additional Requirments

This is an as-needed freelance opportunity with scheduling based on business needs. There are no guaranteed weekly hours, and stylists will be contacted regarding upcoming shoot opportunities based on availability and project needs.
